Composition

Each color of Winton oil paint has, like each color of Artists’ oil paint, its own formulation so that the natural properties of each pigment are fully utilized and the paint’s stability is ensured.

Pigment Content/Color Strength

A high pigment content provides good coverage and color strength. Although Winton cannot match the pigment content of Artists’ oil paint, this is a much higher-quality range than many other ‘artist-grade’ paints.

Viscosity/Consistency
The Winton range is more consistent in texture than Artists’ oil paint, and the paint is slightly stiffer. Brush and palette knife strokes remain excellent.
